At a glance, here are some 2023 accomplishments:
- Latino USA celebrated 30 years of being on the air! We went through the archives and hundreds of hours of tape, to create a series of 30th-anniversary episodes that provided both a time capsule and updated reporting on important topics.
- In collaboration with FRONTLINE and The Texas Tribune, Futuro Investigates produced their first documentary, “After Uvalde: Guns, Grief & Texas Politics,” which probed lingering questions about why this tragedy happened and explored how some of the Robb Elementary school families have responded. This was awarded Best Documentary by the Imagen Awards and nominated for the Peabody for Public Service. (Now nominated for two Emmy Awards!)
- Futuro Studios and WNYC Studios released season two of the award-winning podcast La Brega and produced a companion album with contemporary Boricua artists.
Thank you for your support! It means the world to the staff that make Futuro Media run. We couldn’t do this work without our listeners, readers, and donors.
